Taking influence from the punk-tinged EBM stylings of Assemblage 23, the excruciating gentleness of later Gary Numan, and the pop sensibilities of Switchblade Symphony; Black Ring produces a blend of experimental EBM and darkwave that brandishes a brutal aural attack on the senses. Black Ring's most recent EP, the Rough Sect Sessions, was released in November 2010. A heavily dubstep-influenced album, the Rough Sect Sessions retains the signature darkwave style Black Ring is synonymous with, this time with The Poet providing guest vocals for a Recoil-esque release. The Rough Sect Sessions and three other EPs are available for free download here. A hard copy of the Rough Sect Sessions is currently available on Amazon. |
